After 12 minutes of play, Sarsfield’s got their first point on the board when Daniel McKernan carried the ball 20m before flicking it over the bar. A minute after McKearnan was involved
again as he was denied by a brilliant save from Seánán McToal. Sarsfield got another point on the 19th minute from a 65m free by Sean Og McGuinness. Two scores for Oisíns followed before the 20 minute mark as Gettens got a point from a 65 and Randal McDonnell scored a goal through the keepers legs from the 13m line. In the 10 minutes leading up to the first half, Sarsfields hit a flurry of unanswered points to narrow the gap at half time to 2-05 to 0-06.
